The Hero Hack
A downloadable game
Hey!
So I wrote this game a couple of years ago while procrastinating during grad school. It is a loose mash-up of The Black Hack (1e) with heavy inspiration taken from the Classic Marvel Supers RPG.
Uploading it here because I regularly gett google drive access requests for it via an older webpage it was shared on.
There's stuff about the game that probably doesn't work, and maybe I'll fix it someday, but considering I've never really heard back about the game despite all the access requests over the years, I must simply convince myself everyone else thinks its perfect.
If you run this or play a session, I would love to hear back from you!

Side Note: I am hosting a superhero TTRPG game jam and I wanted to extend a personal invitation to join. I am allowing reposts of games, so if nothing else maybe the algorithm will give your game a few more views! Jam Link: https://itch.io/jam/summer-superhero-ttrpg-jam
Check out the details on the jam page, and let me know if you have any questions!
You have finally heard back after all these years!
I think this is a great combo of OSR and super hero style games.
I think each class having a table to roll on for their powers is really cool.
If I ever play it, I'll be sure to let you know!
(P.S. do you have any plans of ever formating in more / adding art?)
Hey! Appreciate your thoughts. Random tables are my favorite part of TTRPGs and I try to use them whenever I can.
To be honest: I have had an incomplete Hero Hack 2.0 document sitting on my hard drive for several years now. Never thought anyone was interested because I've only ever heard from 1 person who has played in a session of the game I wasn't running. It's really just a rules revision and clean up of the formatting.
Would not really add art unless I suddenly won the lottery and could afford to commission stuff.
